Gardens by the Bay (part 2) - Cloud Forest

Continuing from the Tulipmania event, we also visited the Cloud Forest beside the Flower Dome. We bought the combo tickets at $18 (10% discount with PAssion card) for both conservatories. This place is all about the vegetation of the Tropical highlands up to 2,000-metres above sea level.

Upon entry, a 35m tall 'mountain' welcomed us with cascading waterfalls. We strolled along the marked visitor path and ascended to the mountaintop by lift before descending via the two walkways in the clouds for an aerial view of the canopy and mountainside below. Some sights we saw before we hit the lifts.

Flowers and a few Nepenthes spathulata plants (猪笼草) species were spotted hanging around the planted walls..

Vegetation at the top of the cloud forest....

We began our descent along the walkways...

Special viewing points were available for visitors to snap a pic or two during the descent.

Beside the man-made waterfalls

There is also a Crystals & Limestone exhibition area showcasing stuffs that can be found in the tropical forest.

We stopped by the Black Box and learnt about the self-sustainability at Gardens by the Bay. Discover the numerous ecological functions of Supertrees capturing solar energy and serving as exhausts all while supporting a green living skin.

A few more shots at the end of the walk...

Next, we headed to the Supertrees to visit the OCBC Skyway...stay tuned.
