Tung Lok Signatures @Vivo

Mayday is here and we are celebrating birthday with May babies....the birthday girl wants to eat good chinese cuisine, so after consulting my fellow sistas...we came up with two options - Imperial Treasures & Tung Lok Signatures. Both serves good quality chinese/cantonese cuisine at slightly pocket unfriendly price. 俗话说一分钱一分货...this is really very true! Birthday girl's choice is Tung Lok Signatures and we had a great time catching up over good food!

The menu..

We ordered the Signatures Seafood Set at $218++ for 4 pax (经典海鲜餐) plus an ala carte plate of Crispy pork belly 冰烧三层肉 $10.

凉拌黄瓜

The pork belly is very nicely done....3/4 lean meat with 1/4 fat and crispy skin...I like!

冰烧三层肉

The Braised Fish Maw with Crab Meat in Pumpkin Stock has generous chunks of crab meat and soft n slippery fish maw...coupled with the natural sweetness of the pumpkin soup base...it is very tasty!

黄焖蟹肉鱼鳔羹

Vinegar & Pepper

The 2nd dish is the best dish of the night...in my opinion. The Deep-fried Conpoy with Salted Egg-yolk served with Lettuce has a crispy fried batter coated with flavorful salted egg yolk paste. Inside contains a huge  single piece of fresh and juicy scallop. The scallop is very fresh and the taste blends well with the salted egg crust...thumbs up!

流金沙翠盏元贝

Next we have the Smoked Duck Breast with Soya Beancurd...the duck is tender and slightly salty, blends quite well with the rather bland tofu pieces. Must eat both together..

The 4th dish is the Steamed ‘Soon Hock’ with Taiwan Black Bean Sauce, fish is fresh and tender and the sauce is done just right...nice.

壶底阴豉蒸顺壳鱼

5th dish is the refreshing Poached Seasonal Vegetables with Conpoy Crisps and mushrooms. The waitress told us that the 小白菜 is poached in chicken stock and topped with crispy scallop bits. This dish is pretty good too.

金柱雪菌泡菜苗

The last main dish is the Baked Rice with Seafood Served on Lotus Leaf...I didn't expect it to have a chunk of melted cheese as topping. Luckily it is not too much and can be easily removed so I can still enjoy the fragrant fried rice. There are generous bits of fresh prawns and crab meat in the rice...a great dish as well.

荷香海鲜焗饭

Last but not least...dessert time..Chilled Dessert with Dried Apricot. A nice and light sweet soup to wash down the yummy meal...slurp.

The total bill came out to be $69 per pax...money well spent :)
