Traditional looking interiors and table setup of a typical Chinese restaurant. The restaurant is well staffed and service is very prompt and efficient. We were seated and given the menu in a jiffy.
We ordered a portion of Roast duck and 6 Dim sum dishes to share. Some of these dishes are based on recommendation from food blogger Shootfirsteatlater I found using google.
The Roast Duck was well executed as expected, with crispy and thin skin and thick juicy lean meat beneath. Thumbs up.
The Shrimp Dumpling 蝦餃 didn't disappoint as well, with translucent resilient dumpling skin and packed with succulent fresh shrimp filling.
Steam Pork Rib w/ Taro in black bean sauce 香芋蒸排骨, yam cubes was added into this traditional steam pork rib dish. It provided a nice texture to the tender pork meat...nice.
The Pan fried turnip cake w/ XO sauce XO醬炒蘿蔔糕 was very good. The turnip cubes were very soft and well flavored with the mildly spicy XO sauce, delish!
Steam rice rolls w/ chives & shrimps 韭黃鮮蝦腸, this tasted just so so, the rice sheet is a tad thick for my liking but the shrimp and chives filling were good though.
Beancurd rolls in superior stock 上湯腐皮卷. I initially wanted to order Crispy beancurd rolls served in a claypot w/ soup but apparently I ordered a different beancurd roll dish. Nevertheless, these beancurd rolls drenched in superior stock was pretty tasty too.
Fried glutinous rice w/ chinese sausage 生炒糯米飯. Another wrong order, I was planning to order a Pan fried lor mai kai but oh well this tasted not too bad as well :p
After a hearty lunch, we were ready to start our sightseeing in HK. The total bill for this spread is just HKD170 (tea, peanuts, service etc. included). So cheap! For the same kind of food in SG, we'll have to fork out 3 times the price we paid here. Anyways, we love the food and service here and will be back if we ever visit HK again.
