Bali Half Day Tour - Nusa Dua, Turtle Conservation Center & Jimbaran Sunset

This is my 4th time holidaying in Bali, I've been to all the major sightseeing spots and wanted to explore some of the less touristy places. I had initially wanted to visit the Bali Safari and Marine Park (a touristy but newer attraction) but my email enquiry to them went unanswered for many months, so the plan was scrapped. Instead, we hired a local driver to bring us around for half a day to see and do stuffs we hadn't tried before.

Half Day Tour Itinerary
- Nusa Dua Beach & Water Blow
- Turtle Conservation & Education Center
- Sunset at Jimbaran Beach

Nusa Dua is an upmarket tourist location with 5 stars hotels and resorts clustering around the scenic beach area. Our main objective was to see the naturally formed rock formation, the Water Blow. We took a short walk along the beach area, crossed a large grass field to get to the Water Blow entrance.

The walkway led us along the rocky cliffs towards the edge of the ocean where there's a viewing platform for visitors to see the Water Blow in action.

There were very few visitors here, only a handful of locals who found their way here to view the natural sight. It wasn't high tide timing, the waves didn't gush up very high when we're there. These were the best shots we managed to capture.

After hanging around for a while, we went back to the beach area and took a short breather at a local drink stall, and ordered cooling coconuts to re-hydrate ourselves.

Next stop, the Turtle Conservation and Education center. This non-profit organisation works with the WWF in the effort of preserving local wild turtle species. A volunteer there gave us a free guided tour around the facility.

We made a donation of Rp150k (SGD15) and get to release a baby turtle into the ocean. Our lovely baby was a determined one, tries real hard to swim towards the ocean despite the mighty opposing waves! I hope it is living well now in the sea :)

The last sight was conveniently located near to our resort, a mere 5mins on foot, so we went there without needing a driver. Sunset at the Jimbaran Bay is one of the 3 Must-See sunsets in Bali (the other 2 being at Tanah Lot and Uluwatu cliff). I'll let the pictures do the talking...
