Dinner at WA Cafe 渡邊咖啡店 @Chinatown Point

Have walked pass this restaurant numerous times whenever I go to Chinatown Point. It is the first eatery you'll see after getting out of the MRT station at Basement 1. Finally the opportunity to dine came when my friend asked for recommendation on where to eat for her birthday dinner. I suggested WA Cafe since she likes Japanese and this place offers French Japanese cuisine similar to Hoshino Coffee and Miam Miam.

We ordered one main course each, two appetizers and a photo worthy Blend Coffee set $7.80++ (L) to share. There is also options to top up for main dish to make it a set meal with soup, salad and beverage.

I had the Iberico Pork Katsu Curry Rice $26.80++, it tasted alright but the pork cutlet was a tad hard to chew. The Truffle Fries $10.80++ was pretty good, they were generous with the truffle salt. The Ogura Toast $6.80++ on the other hand doesn't leave much of an impression.

Other main dishes my friends had were Baked Rice w/ Hamburg Steak $20.80++, Chicken Curry Rice w/ Omelette $16.80++ and Japanese Hamburg Steak w/ Demi Glace Sauce $19.80++. No complains heard from them so I figured they were satisfied with their choices.

The restaurant has a policy that no outside cake can be consumed on their premise so we had to order a slice cake from them for our birthday girl (note - candle & tag supplied by me). The Fruit Roll Cake $8.20++ was tasty though.

Our overall dining experience here was good, everything from food to service was within expectations, no more no less. With many similar dining concepts out there, we probably wouldn't be back here in a heartbeat, but at the same time wouldn't discount the possibility of a return visit in the future.

Since the restaurant forbid consumption of outside cakes, I brought these yummies back home to eat with hubby. They were from Châteraisé Japan 💗💗💗
