Antoinette restaurant at Palais Renaissance

Recently had a birthday celebration with a friend at Antoinette's newest outlet at Palais Renaissance. We made an advanced table reservation for Sunday lunch. This place is not busy on a Sunday afternoon. Upon arrival, we were impressed with the french jardin style decor of the place...even bb chairs are custom made to suit the theme...nice.

All the seats are non standard and varies in designs and sizes...some couches sits 2-3 pax...

At the pastry counter, selections of desserts were on display...they all look very enticing..

And then there is the cake counter...look at those colorful and oh so pretty cakes!

There are also some selections of chocolates and sweets on sale too...

We were shown the menu after we settle down at our table...food prices are ok...on the high side but not too high. We each ordered a main dish and a dessert. Most of the mains tasted ok....my Burger Antoinette was quite yummy...and filling too.

The desserts were quite disappointing...they looked so pretty and yummy but tasted mediocre....sad.

Some of my friends ordered pancakes and crepes for dessert...the serving was huge..taste wise, the crepes were too sweet and pancakes were so so..

Overall, the dining experience was not what we expected. Service was not warm and welcoming. Food was mostly so so and desserts weren't as nice as they looked. The total bill for each pax is about $50 which was reasonable though. Don't forget to check out the pretty looking jewellery box bill container..

Sanrio Hello Kitty Town day tour

First of all...the Hello Kitty Town in Msia is an INDOOR theme park...NO outdoor facilities whatsoever...the photo below is hao siao one!!

This is how the actual bldg looks like...its like only half the size of NEX Serangoon mall...its a 4 storey bldg with Hello Kitty theme park at level 1 & 2 and Little Big club at level 3 & 4.

We bought a deal from Deal.com for $69.90 that included two way transfer, admission tics to all 4 levels and a 10 course chinese dinner. Pick up point was at Newton circus food center. Our coach ride to the theme park was pretty comfy...dun understand why they waste time going via the woodlands causeway instead of 2nd link...took us 2hrs to get there :(

We had breakfast at Newton FC before the trip..

Our coach ride and tickets...

Once arrived, everybody chiong for the HK theme park at level 2...super crowded and chaotic..we decided to check out level 3 & 4 first then come back later when the crowd eased.

There is a Souvenir shop and a Red Bow cafe at level 1...serves snacks n drinks nia..

Level 3 has nothing much...all kiddy playground...no rides. There's a stage where Barney performs at fixed schedule. There is also a dance studio where kids can learn simple ballet dance moves from Angelina the mouse..she was not there when we went in.

Pauline & Evelyn very sporting...tried out many games there..

We're done with level 3 in less than an hour...we decided to check out the Thomas train n stuffs at level 4. There are many kiddy rides on level 4...since there is no age restrictions for the kiddy rides, we tried out most of them as there is no Q..

After a couple of rides...we decided to have our lunch at the one & only eatery that serves main meals...roast chicken. Mc Bunn Cafe operates like a fast food joint...service staffs are the slowest in the whole wide world...no kidding. We were glad that we ate early...cos when we were done with lunch, the Q is super long...i can imagine the last guy in the line might wait for 2hrs before he gets to eat something..

After lunch...time to go back to level 2 and spend some time with kitteh and friends..

As expected, everything here is pink n cute...we took the only cuppy ride and checked out kitty's house and did a maze quest to save the trapped kitties..

Kitty's dream house...

The Black Wonder maze...

I'm supposed to figure out a 5 letter password to free the trapped kitties but...my answer is Salah!! hehehe...got a cert with C results :S

I went to their toilet...it was DIRTY...only the doors look pretty nia...haiz..

Was planning to eat kitty waffle at the Cinnamon roll cafe...but the carnival show started so we gathered around to catch it..

The carnival show is quite nice...dun miss it!

By the end of the show it was already 4pm+ so we decided to skip the waffle n head to the souvenir shop..

Bought one kitty phone charm here..

Had a short tea break at the Red Bow cafe...then off we go to the dinner venue to have our 10 course chinese dinner...food is not bad..

The day ends with the coach dropping us off at Newton FC
