The dining concept is modeled after successful Chinese roast duck restaurants based in Bayswater, London, using high quality imported Irish ducks from Silver Farm, Ireland. These ducks are free roaming, grain-fed and raised in a calm environment before slaughter. It is called Wagyu of ducks due to its higher fat content in the meat, making it more juicy and tender than regular roast ducks.
The restaurant also serves HK style dim sum, noodles and congee. This casual diner is kept simple and no frills, serving affordably priced food in a quick and efficient manner, very HK indeed.

HK Roast Meats
The must order is of course the signature London Roast Duck (Whole $48.80++, Half $26++ & Regular $16.80++). The duck has a thin and slightly crispy skin, with a thin layer of fat, and thick layer of lean meat beneath. Meat was extremely soft and tender as claimed, I was impressed. Although this isn't the best duck I've ever eaten, it sure is a very decently made roast duck. And considering its pocket friendly prices (Guan Chee at Food Republic price - Whole $48, Half $25), this will remain the main draw for local customers.
Other roast meats found here are the usual suspects, Crackling Roast Pork Belly and Honey Glazed Char Siew. Both were of good standards as well. Customers can choose to order 2 or 3 combination of the roasted delights based on their liking.
Crackling Pork Belly $12.80++ |
BBQ 2 Combination $14.80++ |
HK Dim Sum
The signature Black Pepper London Duck Buns $5.50++ are also a hit with customers here. This is also my fave Dim Sum item to order. The peppery crust was an awesome pairing to the moist savory duck meat within, thumbs up.
The other dim sum items that I liked are the Pan-fried Radish Cake $5.20++ and the Beancurd Skin Shrimp Rolls $5.20++. The rest of the items were pretty average.
Har Gow $6++ |
Siew Mai $5.80++ |
Xiao Long Bao $5.20++ |
Chicken Feet in Black Bean Sauce $5.20++ |
Steam Cheong Fun with Char Siew $5.50++ |
The only dim sum item I dislike is the Crispy Pandan Snow Custard Bun $5.20++, the custard filling was very watery and bland, very disappointing.
HK Noodles & Congee
I liked the HK style wanton noodles, uber springy and taste good with shrimp dumplings or roast meats. My normal practice is to order their Plain Noodles $3.50++ and pair it with Ala carte roast duck or roast meat, pure shiokness!
The HK style Ting Zai Congee $7.80++ has a fine silky smooth texture but could use a little more ingredients inside.
Shrimp Wanton Noodle $7.80++ |
London Fat Duck's recipe for success has been to provide no frills good quality HK style dishes at reasonable prices in an unpretentious manner. It will not be the choice venue for important celebrations but definitely a great place for regular family or friends gathering.
